Far From Home: Sharing the Gospel in Europe
February 13, 2026
by Claire Ulrich

Alina* was lonely and fearful, hundreds of miles from her homeland. Then, TEAM Global Workers sharing the Gospel in Europe helped Alina find community.
The Lord can work in all kinds of ways. He can bring a global worker to a far-off country to share the Gospel, or He can bring someone from that faraway country to the global worker.
Alina* was hundreds of miles from her homeland when she first heard the Good News of Jesus. She was originally from North Africa but had traveled to Prague to study. Although she is from a Muslim background, she decided to explore different faiths while she was there because she had a hunger for something deeper.
While in Prague, Alina decided to take piano lessons from a Christian woman named Hannah. Although Alina originally came for the lessons, those lessons eventually turned into conversations. Alina asked questions about belief systems and religion, and those questions led to Hannah inviting her to church. There, Alina met Sara, a TEAM global worker.
Sara expands on Alina’s journey: “Hannah found out that Alina had all kinds of questions about spirituality and faith, and she had some deep conversations with her. Hannah found out that Alina was spiritually hungry and seeking and invited her to church. That’s how I met her.”
“I am amazed at how the body of Christ works together, no matter where they’re at in the world, within somebody’s specific faith journey.”
Even though Alina has yet to come to know the Lord, Sara knows that the Lord is working in her life, and that He has used her and other TEAM global workers to do it. Sara says, “I am amazed at how the body of Christ works together, no matter where they’re at in the world, within somebody’s specific faith journey.”
Alina was from North Africa, yet she first heard about the Lord in Prague. It’s an incredible testament to the faithfulness of God, and how He can use His people to share the Gospel, no matter where in the world they are. As Alina interacts with followers of Jesus in different countries, she has the opportunity to explore what faith in Jesus really means.
Sara concludes, “I see how our global workers are being used in different places along with the local believers wherever they’re at…. It’s encouraging to me that God uses many people in one person’s life.”
“God uses many people in one person’s life.”
All over the world, people are leaving their home countries to seek safety, opportunity, and hope elsewhere—and along their journeys, God is meeting them through TEAM global workers. Alina’s story is just one glimpse of His transforming work. As more people find themselves far from home, it is exciting to see how the Lord is opening fresh opportunities for His followers to welcome them, walk with them, and share the Good News that was once out of reach.
